BUCOA.ORG started out as a grassroots effort to protect the rights of local citizens in Buchanan County against the encroachment of industrial wind farms. Unfortunately, we have since had to expand our efforts to the state level because when big wind energy companies lost their battle here, they took it to the state. Now they are mounting an all out assault on the entire state of Iowa to try to strip every local county in Iowa of ALL control over any kind of oversight on wind farms, including trying to push through a stipulation that would place no limits at all on how many wind turbines they can put up in any given area.
