The proposed regulations for locating wind turbines in Buchanan County are in draft form and will be reviewed and discussed at the March 6th Planning & Zoning meeting. The meeting is at 7:00 PM at the Falcon Civic Center, 1305 5th Ave NE, Independence. Please plan on attending this meeting if you would like to have any input at all into regulations that will affect the rest of your lives.

The proposed new regulations can be found here: Proposed Wind Energy Conversion System Regulations (WECS) by the Planning and Zoning Commission

Please read the proposed regulations and bring your questions and comments to this meeting. Your suggestions for additions or changes are welcomed and encouraged before these regulations become final. Each person will be allowed three minutes to speak. The members of our P & Z Board have worked incredibly hard at assuring the subject of wind turbine fields in Buchanan County is a community issue. This cannot be achieved without the community’s input.
